Rachel Platten at The Grove

On February 18th, Crate & Barrel hosted a FREE show with Rachel Platten at The Grove. Rachel released her album, Wildfire, in January and I’ve been obsessed with Fight Song. It has become one of my all time favorite songs. I found out about the event 2 days prior. There was an Eventbrite link to RSVP. Crate & Barrel had snacks, limited signed Wildfire cds for purchase, and a chance to meet Rachel afterwards.

Backstreet Boys & Avril Lavigne (In A World Like This Tour)

Nostalgia was in full force when the Backstreet Boys (BSB) announced they were touring with Avril Lavigne a couple years ago. There was no way I could miss this opportunity! I went with my best friend on May 28, 2014 in San Diego at the Viejas Arena. This was the first time I saw the Backstreet Boys in concert and the 2nd time for Avril Lavigne (I saw her the year before at Jimmy Kimmel’s summer concert series).

Lights at The Wiltern

I’ve seen Lights perform 6 times in the past 5 years. Last Friday, I went to her concert at The Wiltern in Los Angeles. I have never been to this venue before and paid $20 for parking at the parking garage next door (absolutely insane).

Usually her L.A. shows sell out, but Lights had a show in Anaheim the night before. A group of us were supposed to be seated above in LOGE, but they allowed everyone on the Floor.

JoJo at Westfield Fashion Valley Mall

For this throwback Thursday, I decided to write about JoJo who is finally on tour after a 7 year legal battle with her former label (they refused to release new music). I’ve been reminiscing to when I first saw her perform at a San Diego mall in May before her debut album released in June 2004. JoJo was 14 and had two singles on the radio. Leave (Get Out) and Baby It’s You were blowing up on MTV.

The Veronicas in San Diego (April 2015)

I have been a fan of The Veronicas since high school when 4ever was released in 2005. The last time I saw them in concert was in 2009. This past April, the Australian twins were doing a radio tour in the US and I was dying to know if they were going to visit San Diego. The night before, I discovered The Veronicas were going to stop by 100.7 JACK FM. The catch was you needed VIP passes. FML. So I went to Twitter to vent my feelings at 10:45pm. A few hours later The Veronicas bass player, Sherman, retweeted  my tweet! (WHAT?!?)

Taylor Swift Concert at the Staples Center (1989 World Tour)

The Staples Center has been on my bucket list for years. Not for a sports game, but to see a concert. The first time I saw Taylor Swift was in San Diego for her Speak Now tour in 2011. When her 1989 album dropped last year, I knew I had to go see her in concert again! I was unsure if I should choose to see her in SD or LA. San Diego tickets released first and I wasn’t excited about the seating chart for Petco Park. The fans seemed so far away from the stage. I knew Los Angeles shows sold out much quicker, but I didn’t care. I wanted to at least try and get tickets. It was going to be my most expensive concert ticket purchase, ever. I had a feeling she was going to add more shows in LA and she did!
